Dr. Merchant is the Owner and Director of Maple Kidz Clinic and has been practicing General Pediatrics in Vaughan since 2004.
Dr. Merchant works with the Childrens Treatment Network of Simcoe-York in the area of Developmental Pediatrics and holds a faculty position in the department of Pediatrics at the University of Toronto. Dr. Merchant maintained hospital privileges and did on call for seven years at Mackenzie Health (now Cortellucci Vaughan hospital). Dr. Merchant was a Peer Assessor with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario from 2015-2021 and also served six years as a Director on the board of Vaughan Community Health centre in capacity of Secretary on the Executive Committee (2015-2021).She served as Chair of the Covid 19 working group( Pediatric section OMA) from June 2021 to June 2022. She then served as Chair of the Pediatric section OMA from July 2022 to April 2024.
Dr. Merchant completed her Pediatric Residency at the Hospital For Sick Children in 2004. She graduated from Medical school in 1994 from University of Amravati in India. She resides in Vaughan with her husband and daughter.
An accomplished Pediatrician and Pediatric Nephrologist, Dr. Roushdi is available to see patients in consultation. She is on staff at Mackenzie Health and she provides nephrology consultations to local pediatricians and family physicians.
Dr Daniel Ostro is a General Pediatrician at the Maple Kidz Clinic. He is an attending Pediatrician at the Mackenzie Health Hospital. Dr Ostro completed his Pediatric residency and was Chief Resident at SUNY Downstate Medical Centre, in Brooklyn, New York. Dr Ostro is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics(FAAP).
Dr. Pooja Prabhu is a General Pediatrician with additional interest and experience in Breastfeeding Medicine. Along with her work at Maple Kidz Clinic, she works at the Newman Breastfeeding Clinic at the International Breastfeeding Centre in Toronto. She is committed to helping families meet their own breastfeeding goals without pressure or judgement. She has also completed the CanREACH Mini-Fellowship: Patient-Centered Mental Health in Paediatric Primary Care. Dr. Prabhu received her medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis and completed her pediatrics residency training at St. Louis Children's Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. Before her move to Ontario, she practiced Emergency Pediatrics at Children's Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Prabhu is Board-Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Farahnaz Ganjizadeh Zavareh is a General Pediatrician with an interest and experience in developmental pediatrics. She started working as a pediatrician in 2012 in Alberta. She moved to Toronto in 2019. Her goal as a pediatrician is to help children stay physically and mentally healthy up into their adulthood.
Dr Fesharaki completed her medical
school in Iran. She then received her master’s degree in neurophysiology
(neuro-ophthalmology) under supervision of Dr Tweed and Dr Agnes Wong at
University of Toronto. She completed her residency training in Pediatric
Neurology at McMaster University. She is a certified Pediatric Neurologist by
Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
Dr Fesharaki is
especially interested in different
neurological disorders in children under the age of 18 years. Her areas of
interest include headaches and migraine, developmental delay, epilepsy,
cerebral palsy and movement disorders and tics. She is specially interested in
patient education and spends ample time with each patient for counseling.
Dr Fesharaki has hospital privileges
at Southlake Hospital in Newmarket.
Dr. Foram Gandhi is a board-certified Pediatrician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP). She completed her Pediatrics residency at Staten Island University Hospital in New York. Before relocating to Ontario, she worked as a pediatrician with Guthrie medical group in New York.
She is committed to providing comprehensive primary care for children from birth through adolescent years. She prioritizes collaborating with families to make evidence based health care decisions for their children. Her goal is to promote physical, developmental and emotional wellness for children in our community.
Dr. Mehdizadeh Hakak successfully completed his Pediatric residency in 2002, and worked as a Pediatrician for 6 years, followed by a fellowship in Neonatology at University of Ottawa, ON, Canada in 2018. He started his Independent practice in New Brunswick as a Paediatrician and Neonatologist and recently relocated to Toronto
Dr. Joshua Hochman is a Royal College certified pediatrician, who has completed fellowship training in Allergy and Clinical Immunology. Dr. Hochman graduated from medical school at McMaster University before completing his Pediatrics residency at the University of Saskatchewan. He then returned to McMaster University to complete a subspecialty fellowship in Allergy and Clinical Immunology, where he was also chief resident. Dr. Hochman is a member of the Canadian Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.
Dr. Benjamin Matta graduated from medical school at the Technion in Haifa, Israel before completing his Pediatrics residency at Staten Island University Hospital, in New York. He went on to Kansas City, Missouri, where he completed a subspecialty fellowship in Pediatric Nephrology. While in Kansas City, he also completed a master of science in bioinformatics at the University of Missouri - Kansas City, where he conducted research on blood pressure control in children with chronic kidney disease. Dr. Matta is certified in both Pediatrics and Pediatric Nephrology by the American Board of Pediatrics, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Matta is welcoming new referrals or consultations for Pediatrics. Dr. Matta returned to Ontario with his family, and now lives in Maple. While not in the clinic, Dr. Matta enjoys camping in nature with his wife, three daughters and son.
Marbella comes to our clinic with significant experience in
the healthcare field. She qualified and practiced as a Medical Physician in
Venezuela. After arriving in Canada, Marbella has worked in Family Practice,
initially as a Physician Medical Assistant and then as Office Manager. We are
thrilled to have her on our team as Office Manager. Marbella’s focus is on
improving the patient experience and she welcomes your feedback.
Dava is a registered nurse with pediatric knowledge. She works closely with our pediatricians in preparing children for visits, providing treatment when necessary, and minimizing pain and discomfort when administering vaccines.
Leslie
Anne joins MKC with over 15 years of experience as a nurse. She worked in
different healthcare settings and showed professionalism while providing care
and compassion to her patients/ clients. She is a lovely mom of three and loves
spending time with her family.
Sharon joins our clinic with over 10 years of experience working as a Secretary in the Medical field. She previously worked in the field of Dermatology for 10 years. She has completed courses in Medical Terminology. She is dedicated to her job and cares about the needs of others. Sharon is always ready to help and assist with a smile on her face! If you need her assistance you can always find her at the front desk.
Zainab is one of our Medical Receptionists. She has experience in customer service and is a graduate of the Medical Receptionist program. Zainab is a kind individual who enjoys helping patients, providing information about our services and being a part of the Maple Kidz team.
